It was great to see the Town Hall lit up in purple this month in support of the Women Against State Pension Inequality (WASPI) Campaign. I stood alongside The Lord Mayor, fellow Labour MP’s, local councillors and trade union colleagues from across Greater Manchester in solidarity with #WASPI women and their demands for a fair pension.
Special thank you to Wendy from Greater Manchester WASPI for organising this great event.

I believe we need to ensure that women affected by the state pension equalisation have security in older age. Labour will deliver a pensions system that ensures dignity in retirement, and is a proper reflection of the contribution that older people have made, and continue to make, to our society.
