The violent unrest that took place over the summer has exposed the role of the far right in our society and the damage it causes to communities. We saw the mobilisation of white supremacist groups, targeting of mosques and the amount of people shouting racist and Islamophobic abuse was appalling.

I am committed to calling out this far right behaviour for what it is: extremism. I hope that communities can heal after the damage that took place and I will continue to do what I can to tackle this serious issue.
