I was horrified to learn of the racist attack on the United Church of God Assembly in Longsight, in which racist vandals defaced and smashed the church’s minibus.

In response to this abhorrent attack, the community came together to hold a vigil outside the church. It was great to see so many people come out in support of the church congregation to send the message that ‘racists won’t win.’ Over 100 people attended the socially distanced vigil outside the church to show our support and to celebrate our diverse community.

I stand in solidarity with Manchester’s Black community, and against those who seek to divide us #BlackLivesMatter
