If you’ve seen the news, you’ll have seen that the time has come to kick the Conservative Party out of Downing Street. Rishi Sunak has announced a General Election for 4 July.

I am proud to have served as a Member of Parliament for Manchester Gorton for the last seven years. I am also proud to be standing for the first time as a Labour candidate for the new Manchester Rusholme constituency. Over my time in Parliament, I have stood up for Manchester, Mancunians, for human rights, and for a better future.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll been fighting to win every seat we need to form a Labour government. We won’t take any vote for granted here in Rusholme either.
