I am holding a Young Leadership Programme for the first time, drawing participants from the constituency. This leadership programme will be a great opportunity to get direct experience of politics, law, media and public affairs.

Participants aged between 18 and 24 will develop key skills for future involvement in politics as well as other sectors. There will also be opportunities to meet high profile figures from the Labour Party.

The programme will run for a week over early-mid June 2019.

The week will consist of gaining an insight into the workings of an MPs office, understanding local and national politics, political campaigns, group exercises, and a visit to Parliament. It will aim to highlight the importance of Equality and Diversity in Leadership.

The participants will then graduate at the end of the week!

The Programme will seek to develop the following skills in politics, activism and engagement and show leadership in multiple sectors such as Education, Media, the Judiciary, Charity and of course in Politics.

All candidates must be aged between 18-24 and available for every weekday for the duration of the scheme. A keen interest in Politics would be preferred.

There is no cost to participants, although you’ll need to arrange you own travel to the constituency office.

You do not have to a member of the Labour Party to participate.
